Globally Enable or Disable Packet Filtering From The Command Line, F5 BigIP

From NetworkStuff

F5-logo-large.png

It's not immediately obvious how you can globally enable or disable packet filtering from the command line on an F5 BigIP device. While the bigpipe packet filter command can be used to create, modify, delete and display packet filter rules, the command cannot globally enable or disable packet filtering itself and there is no standard configuration file setting.

This is because this setting is a configuration database entry rather than a configuration file entry. Thus, to globally enable or disable packet filtering from the command line use the following bigpipe db command syntax: bigpipe db PacketFilter (enable|disable).
